Further Product Details:

· The tablecloth captures the tradition and the ritual of laying the table, which will so intrinsically familiar to the participants as a time to sit down and share a cuppa and a chat. The images on the tablecloth naturally prompt conversation amongst the group and the laying of the table to commence each session will become a familiar prompt for the group.

 · The activities handbook provides instructions for sessions around 8 topics to do with gardening. Each topic includes various creative activities and can take several session to complete, depending on individual groups. Sessions are structured to follow a pattern of laying the table and sharing a cuppa and a conversation about the day’s topic, which will flow naturally into the day’s activities (including visual arts, bulb planting, flower arranging, poetry recital, music etc) and then on to reflecting on what has been done in the session and planning for the next session, all-the-while focussing on conversation, discussion and the sharing of personal stories.

 · The Aftercare Support section of our website provides further information on resources and ideas to extend the activities in the handbooks, tips on group facilitation and communication, on-going support and evolving information about creative activities and wellbeing in care settings.

For participants the creative activities in our kits will:

- Encourage social engagement and combat isolation and loneliness

Those who have used our Gardening kit to lead groups say:

"People who are usually on the quiet side, joined in with a lot of the conversation, their stories and memories…The group activity promotes their conversation and social skills, and gives them a wee bit more confidence."

Activities Coordinator

"The tablecloth is lovely and has sparked many memories which we have shared. Each session is set out in the user guide with clear, easy to follow suggestions on how to lead the activities. Our service users particularly enjoyed reminiscing about their own gardens and getting involved in planting and watching their flowers grow.

We would happily recommend this product as an addition to any care home activity programme."
